Clashing colour, mismatched furniture, random inclusions; here we celebrate some of the most individual interiors seen on Houzz. And we salute the individuals behind them… it takes daring to be different.

Why we love it: Because if you love lampshades, then why stop at one? We love the celebration evident in this home and the way the lampshades have been hung up to battle it out with the floral sofa.
2. Location: Portland, USA
Why we love it: Because they could have left it at the sea-green feature wall and pale blue chandelier. Instead, they ramped it up further with the spectacular chairs. We are sure everyone gravitates to this room, whether they love it or not.

Why we love it: The way the starburst rug takes pride of place, despite close competition from the zebra-print chair, toile curtains and ornamental horse.

Why we love it: The pairing of floral curtains with the graphic artwork referencing 17th-century Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer and a very modern bubble pendant light. Very separate elements somehow relate so well.
